“Reptile” Litigation Tactics—Appealing to our most basic fears in lawsuits against agriculture, Andy Kok, MFB General Counsel

In the past 10 years, personal injury lawyers have begun attacking agriculture with emotional and psychological strategies.  In the North Carolina hog farm cases, and the lawsuits against Monsanto regarding Roundup/glyphosate, these strategies played a major role.  Are these same tactics used against farmers in other ways?  How can we counter these tactics?  We will explore these two cases as examples, and grapple with those questions.
